On the cover, the Dictyostelium discoideum spore coat proteins are secreted from secretory vesicles at the end of morphogenesis. Proteomics was used to identify the complement of vesicle proteins. This analysis has resulted in specific hypotheses regarding how the newly identified protein components interact and function to regulate protein secretion during development in this system.
